High Blood Pressure which is also known as Hypertension or “Arterial Hypertension” is a widespread disease that is characterized by high blood pressure in the arteries. Having the most current high blood pressure will help you considerably in dealing with it and deciding such things as exercise programs, diets and any additional applications.

Blood pressure is most commonly defined as the force, or pressure, of the blood as it pushes up against the walls of the arteries or blood vessels. If your blood pressure is high, that means your heart is pumping blood harder, which causes the arteries to harden and constrict. This is a condition known as atherosclerosis and is also known as Arteriosclerotic Vascular Disease or ASVD.

There are various categories for classifying high blood pressure – information is based on a calculation of systolic (highest blood pressure) and diastolic (lowest blood pressure) readings as follows:

• Normal Rate – not higher than 120/80
• Pre-hypertension Rate – 120-139/80-89
• Stage 1 High Blood Pressure -140-159/90-99
• Stage 2 High Blood Pressure – 160 and above/100 and above

People who think they have high blood pressure should consult a doctor immediately for determining the best ways to control it. There are several general causes of high blood pressure as follows:

• Lack of proper exercise
• Smoking/Drinking
• Overweight/Obesity
• Too much stress
• Too much sodium (salt) intake
• Natural aging
• Genetic conditions

High Blood Pressure does not usually have any significant symptoms and many people who have it do not even know that they already have it. The best way to know if you have high blood pressure is to measure it yourself with a high blood pressure device, or visit a doctor and have it checked out.

The following are possible symptoms of high blood pressure (information varying by the causes):

• Chest pains or congested feeling
• Severe migraines or headaches
• Blurry vision

• Dizzy feeling
• Irregular or fluctuating heartbeat
• Problems breathing
• Blood seen in the urine

The following are the groups of people who are most likely to have high blood pressure (information varying by causes and symptoms):

• People that smoke and/or drink
• People that are overweight/obese
• People that are physically inactive
• People that have family members with high blood pressure
• Pregnant women
• Women who use contraceptives
• People that have a high intake of salt

High blood pressure can be easily diagnosed by a doctor or nurse and monitoring your blood pressure regularly is a good way to control high blood pressure and it advisable to do so at least every 3 months.

High blood pressure can seriously damage the blood vessels in your body and can lead to other conditions including:

• Heart attack/failure
• Kidney disease/failure
• Stroke
• Vision/eyesight problems

High blood pressure can be controlled quite effectively by paying attention to your diet and reducing weight through exercising proper nutrition. Fruits and vegetables are some of the best foods to eat. There are also natural remedies as well as doctor-prescribed medicines that can help to lower your blood pressure. To find more high blood pressure information and learn how to prevent it, it is best to talk to your doctor.

If you are new here, welcome to our website. In these pages you will be able to find information on all types of high blood pressure remedies and treatments. I’m not a medical doctor, nor do I play one on television, so please take any advise given here with that strictly in mind. You should always be following the recommendations given to you by your doctor over and above anything you find on the Internet… especially when it comes to high blood pressure remedies and/or the best high blood pressure diet for you.

In my opinion, the best high blood pressure diet advice is based on common sense. So with that in mind, here is my Top 10 List when considering the ideal high blood pressure diet.

Watch your weight! Blood pressure increases as weight goes up.

Be careful of salt! Sodium intake is a prime culprit in high blood pressure.

Be careful of alcohol! Alcohol is beneficial in moderation… don’t overdo it.

Get plenty of exercise… and be sure to ask your doctor about which exercise is best.

Be careful of tobacco! Nicotine can raise blood pressure.

Be careful of caffeine! Coffee, cola, tea, etc. can raise your blood pressure.

Relax while you are eating… never eat on the run and allow time for the food to settle.

Reduce foods that are too acid (sugar, potatoes, rice, meat, milk, bananas, etc.)

Reduce foods that are too alkaline (maple syrup, vegetables, coconuts, etc.)

Drink more pure water… as much as you can!

Learning as much as you can about the properties of food (proteins, calories, carbohydrates, acidity, alkalinity, etc.) can go a long way towards helping you prepare your the high blood pressure diet that’s right for you. Armed with the proper facts and figures you can make much more informed choices when it comes to planning and preparing your day to day meals and as a result, lower your need for high blood pressure medication and other treatment.

As was the case with me, you may never even know that you have high blood pressure until actually being examined by a doctor and believe me, it is much better to find out as soon as possible, because it is much easier to control in the early stages and a less stringent high blood pressure diet can be much more easily recommended (and enjoyed).

An effective high blood pressure diet is a very personal thing… not that its private, but each person’s situation is extremely different as there are many types of high blood pressure and many various reasons for it happening in the first place which cover a very broad spectrum.

Basically the main considerations are which foods you should include and which ones you should be avoiding, based on your own situation. So again, learning as much as you can about your own condition and its unique causes will help you pinpoint the high blood pressure diet that is best suited to that sutuation. There really is no “one size fits all” diet that can be recommended.

So learn as much as you can and take control of your diet yourself… because ultimately your are the one that is responsible.

High Blood Pressure is the common way of referring to the medical condition known as Hypertension. There are basically two types of high blood pressure and generally they are simply referred to as primary high blood pressure and secondary high blood pressure. The difference between primary high blood pressure and secondary high blood pressure is basically derived from the causes that initially brought them about. In effect, when the high blood pressure causes have no known medical justification the high blood pressure is classified as primary high blood pressure and when the high blood pressure causes are the result of some other, known, medical condition it is then diagnosed, or classified as secondary high blood pressure.

According to the American Heart Association, 5 to 10 percent of high blood pressure incidents are the result of some other, known, medical condition and are therefore diagnosed as secondary high blood pressure. This means the patient had some underlying condition which in all likelihood led to the high blood pressure. In these situations, treating those underlying high blood pressure causes is the key to controlling the high blood pressure. It is quite important that the normal level of blood pressure be restored as soon as possible because in much the same way as the high blood pressure causes were one condition that lead to the high blood pressure, high blood pressure can also lead to several more severe conditions… including stroke, heart failure and kidney failure, just to name a few.

Here are the most common high blood pressure causes that are responsible for secondary high blood pressure:

Any type of kidney disorder that can lead to kidney failure will cause excessive amounts of sodium and water to be retained by the body; this is one of the main high blood pressure causes. When hypertension starts, the blood vessels that carry blood to the kidneys start to get more narrow and that makes it more and more difficult for blood to easily flow there. This particular condition results in one type of high blood pressure known as renovascular hypertension. In most cases, this can be effectively treated with surgery.

Some high blood pressure causes which include adrenal tumors are pheochromocytoma, primary aldosteronism, and Cushing’s syndrome. Primary aldosteronism, and Cushing’s syndrome require difficult treatment, which unfortunately is not always effective in lowering blood pressure while removal of the pheochromocytoma has a much better chance of reducing high blood pressure.

High blood pressure causes related to certain hormonal imbalances such as hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism which involve the overproduction or underproduction of hormones by the thyroid.

Excessive production of growth hormone by the pituitary gland is also one of the high blood pressure causes that need to be considered.

Sleep apnea, which is a sleeping disorder can also lead to high blood pressure. This generally occurs when a person periodically stops breathing while sleeping. Sleep apnea can be effectively treated by the use of a retainer like mouthpiece that keeps a person’s airways open during sleep which can substantially lower blood pressure.

High blood pressure causes also include some prescription drugs such as corticosteroids, cyclosporine, tacrolimus, epoetin and various nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. There are also some over-the-counter medications that can raise blood pressure. These include common pain relievers, nasal decongestants, and a variety of weight-loss products which generally include caffeine. Illegal drugs such as amphetamine and cocaine are also known high blood pressure causes.

Because there are so many secondary high blood pressure causes, it is very important to learn as much about them as possible in order to properly identify the treatment that’s best for you. Treating or controlling high blood pressure causes for secondary hypertension is critical in treating high blood pressure.

Welcome to our website. Here you will be able to find suppliers of all types of high blood pressure remedies and treatments. I’m not a doctor, and I don’t even play one on television, so any advise given here is to be taken with that in mind. Always follow the recommendations given by your doctor over anything you might read on the Internet… especially when it comes to high blood pressure and/or high blood pressure remedies.

In my opinion, the best high blood pressure remedies are the natural ones I ran across. Here is my Top 10 List for dealing with high blood pressure naturally.

Learn all you can about high blood pressure, get as much information as you can.

Determine the best diet for you and your specific needs.

Cut down on sodium… find out where it is hiding and avoid it wherever possible.

Get more fiber in your diet either naturally or with supplements.

Be careful eating out at restaurants… its not a “get out of jail free card”.

Consult your doctor about the best exercise program for you.

Learn how to relax, either through meditation or stress reduction exercises.

If you can’t eliminate alcohol from your life, find out which types are healthier for you.

Consider losing weight if that is a factor in your high blood pressure.

Try ginseng, valerian and or kava kava herbs for added support.

These are just a few of the things that helped me personally, although I’m sure there are dozens more and if you ask 10 people for their opinion on the best high blood pressure remedies you’ll probably get 10 different answers.

The recurring advice would no doubt center on information (learning as much as you can about what you’re dealing with) dietary considerations (eating the right foods, eliminating the wrong ones, and supplementing your diet where necessary) and lifestyle changes (more exercise, less drugs/caffeine/alcohol, stress reduction). If you can get a handle on these three areas other high blood pressure remedies (like those prescribed by your doctor) may become increasingly unnecessary.

Speaking of your physician, you should never be afraid to get a second (or third) opinion. If your doctor tells you something that doesn’t feel right, ask around. I’m not saying that you should just keep asking more and more doctors until you get the answers you want to get, what I am saying is that all doctors are not created equally and you may actually be better off with another one. So while your looking for the best high blood pressure remedies keep in mind that your doctor may not have all the answers.

The right high blood pressure remedies for one person may not be the best high blood pressure remedies for another… I’ve found it all to be highly personal and solutions depend a great deal on your personal habits and lifestyle. Type A personalities are generally the ones that most easily get high blood pressure and unfortunately Type A people are generally the most stubborn and inflexible people when it comes to changing their habits and lifestyle to the degree necessary to effect real change.

So keep in mind that there may be many good high blood pressure remedies out there, but the best high blood pressure remedies are going to ultimately be the ones specifically designed for you… so get whatever information you need to take care of yourself… because in all likelihood no one is going to do it for you.

Probably like many of you, my first dealings with this came after a routine trip to the doctor where I was told I had high blood pressure. Remedies were no where to be found as I had no idea that anything was out of order. Luckily it was quite mild and the doctor told me that my high blood pressure was really no problem if I just paid a little attention to it. So, of course, I started doing a little bit of research for high blood pressure remedies, and was pretty much overwhelmed by the sheer volume of information out there. This site was designed to whittle things down a bit and let you know what I learned about high blood pressure in general and high blood pressure remedies, more specifically.

I do hope you enjoy the site.
